There is nothing more frustrating than opening a kitchen drawer and immediately feeling annoyed.

You know the one—the junk drawer, the utensil drawer, the one where nothing stays where it belongs.

And the truth is… it’s not really about the drawer.

It’s about how it makes everything feel just a little more chaotic than it needs to be.

So, let's fix it, step by step—easy…but extra.

Step 1: Empty it

Take everything out...not shift it around—empty it.

Step 2: Declutter first

Before organizing, ask:

  • Do I have more than one?

  • Have I used this recently?

  • Is it broken or worn out?

Just because something still works… doesn’t mean it deserves a spot.

Step 3: Use simple organizers

This is where things start to feel better.

I always come back to:

  • Expandable drawer organizer

  • Adjustable drawer dividers

  • Clear drawer containers

(You can find my favorites HERE)

Step 4: Give everything a home

If it doesn’t have a place, it becomes clutter again.

Step 5: Do not overfill

We’re going for calm… not crammed.

Start with one drawer.

That’s it.

You’ll be surprised how much better everything feels.
